Your Initial Evaluation
The evaluation is your first appointment, which will outline your treatment plan and path to recovery. The evaluation is not free and is billed accordingly, through your insurance provider or directly to you as an out of pocket payment.
Frequently Asked Questions
How is Clarity Different?
Clarity is Western Springs’ provider of physical therapy. We are an independent, locally owned and operated clinic and wellness center and believe in providing individualized one-on-one care to our clients. Our newly-renovated space provides a comfortable atmosphere for our patients and yoga students alike to relax, restore and focus on their own health. From injury recovery to mindfulness and meditation, Clarity offers a variety of opportunities to achieve and maintain optimal health.
Is Physical Therapy Covered By Insurance?
Yes, physical therapy is covered by insurance, but can vary based on the insurance plan you have. You can view a full list of our accepted insurance providers. Our billing company verifies all insurance benefits once information has been received, however we suggest all patients consult their insurance provider to obtain the most up to date information. If you have further questions, please call us.
Do I Need A Prescription To Be Seen By A Physical Therapist?
Physical therapy does not require a prescription. Physical therapists have the autonomy to direct patient care. Insurance does not require a physician referral or prescription for physical therapy. Medicare is the only insurance that requires either a signed physical therapy initial evaluation or prescription on file to be covered.
What Is The Difference Between A Screening And Evaluation?
We offer free screenings to discuss your problem areas and assess whether or not physical therapy is the right course of action for you. Once physical therapy is prescribed as the best way to optimize your health, we would schedule your comprehensive evaluation. The evaluation is your first appointment, which will outline your treatment plan and path to recovery. The evaluation is not free and is billed accordingly, through your insurance provider or directly to you as an out of pocket payment.
Should Physical Therapy Cause Pain?
Physical therapy can cause discomfort and at times be challenging, but our treatments should never cause pain. If you are experiencing pain during or after your visit, please consult your therapist.
